New Clients

Everything you need to know before your first visit to College Boulevard Animal Hospital.

What to Expect

We know switching vets—or finding your first one—can feel like a big decision. We want to make it easy. Your first appointment is a chance for us to get to know you and your pet, understand their history, and talk through any questions or concerns you have. There's no rush. We take our time with every new patient so we can build a relationship that lasts.

Dr. Pippin and Dr. Baird see the same patients visit after visit—you won't get a different doctor every time. That consistency is a big part of how we practice, and our clients tell us it makes a real difference.

What to Bring

A little preparation goes a long way toward making your first visit smooth and productive.

📋

Veterinary Records

Bring any previous medical records, vaccination history, or lab results you have. If your pet has been seen at another clinic, let us know their name and number and we'll request records on your behalf.

💊

Current Medications

A list of any medications, supplements, or preventives your pet is currently taking—including dosage and frequency. If you have the bottles or packages, feel free to bring those along.

🍞

Diet Information

We'll want to know what your pet eats (brand, type, and amount), how often they're fed, and whether they get any treats or table food regularly. Nutrition is a bigger part of health than most people realize.

📝

Your Questions

Write down anything you've been wondering about—behavior changes, lumps, limping, appetite, whatever's on your mind. No question is too small, and we'd rather you ask than worry at home.

What Happens at the First Visit

Your pet's first visit typically starts with a thorough nose-to-tail physical exam. We'll review their medical history, talk about their diet and lifestyle, discuss any concerns you have, and put together a plan for vaccines and preventive care tailored to their specific needs.

You're welcome to stay with your pet during the entire exam—we encourage it. If your pet needs any procedures that take them to the treatment area, we'll walk you through everything ahead of time and keep you updated along the way.

First visits usually run a bit longer than a standard appointment, so don't worry about being in a hurry. We'd rather take our time and do things right.
